Straingages

A Straingauge is a sensor whose resistance varies with applied force. It convert force, pressure, tension, weight, etc. into in a electrical resistance which can be measured. When external force is applied to a stationary object, stress and starin are the results. Stress is defined as the object's internal resisting force, and strain is defined as the displacement and deformation the occur. Tha Straingauges are tipically used to produce Transducers, like pressure and load cells, stress analisys (force, torsion, lenght, compression) and can be monoaxial, biaxial and triaxial depending on application. Constatan and Karma are the most used material of Straingauges.
