Load cells are precision tools that have introduced a big change in the weighing industry. They have revolutionised the industrial system, ensuring high accuracy and easier weight detection. How so? Simply put: the load cells release an electrical signal proportional to the measured force, which is then translated into a numeric value, that is, the weight detected.
The great versatility that characterizes them has allowed them to be used in almost all production sectors: from construction to the food sector, from steel to automotive to naval, just to mention the main ones.

Celmi, for almost 40 years in industrial weighing, is able to offer its customers a very wide range of cellsoff-center, low-profile compression, column compression, cutting, double cutting, bending, as well as a series of special products made ad hoc on the specific needs of the customer. Within the cells called compression and traction, we present type 112.
This type of cell is born to detect a change of force-weight on an element to which it is complicated to access or unmovable also, being integrated into the architecture, allows a constant and rather accurate estimation of efforts, avoiding accidents and allowing the reduction of dead times for equipment for estimation by traditional means.
In detail, the type 112 created by our team of technicians and designers, was designed for use in high-range weighing systems such as traction measurements on trailers, test machines as well as weighing on lifting vehicles. Here are some technical features: its construction is watertight at diving (IP 68), is completely made of stainless steel, has a high resistance to twists and is made in a wide range of capacities, for every weighing need: from 10 to 500 tons, and not only.
Today we present a very special traction and compression model, which we have created for a customer in the petrochemical industry. This is the type 112 cell with extremely high range: 800 tons and output 4-20. There are many elements that denote its uniqueness. The range first, but also its size: height 400 mm and diameter of 200, as well as ATEX certification, indispensable to allow its use in areas at risk of deflagration, such as those present in petrochemical plants.
We try to better understand the specificity of the scope of use of this particular product. Our customer asked us to make a cell type 112 (traction and compression) with the aim of measuring the traction load of a plant created ad hoc to carry out simulations on a head tube of a petrochemical well, with a diameter of 540 mm and height 1 meter. The maximum force applied on the well headboard was 6000 kN and, during traction, we also had to take into account the frictional force of a (estimated) creeping bayerna of 2000 kN, while the liquid of the well predicted a pressure of 50 bars. The tests carried out with this load cell type 112 will allow to understand the actual resilience and performance of the well, in order to predict its behaviors in its final realization.
